Residents are asked to have their materials out for collection by 7am as collection times may vary.
The waste and recycling collections will return to normal from Monday 13 January.
Dave White, Waste Strategy Team Leader at East Cambridgeshire District Council, said: "This year is the first Christmas since we have introduced the new wheeled bin recycling service and we hope the bins will be well used this Christmas. There are many seasonal items which can be put in the green lidded bins such as Turkey bones, raw meat and plate scrapings preferably wrapped in newspaper. While the blue lidded bin can take non-foil wrapping paper, Christmas cards and plastic tubs.
“We have tried to minimise the disruption to everyone's waste and recycling collections as far as possible. However if you want to dispose of your recycling before your revised collection day, the Household Waste Recycling Centres in Witchford and Milton will also be open except for Christmas Eve afternoon, Christmas, Boxing and New Years Day. They have extensive facilities to recycle much of the waste you generate over the holiday period, if you can’t wait for the normal collections.”
