Manage Permissions for Tax Software

You may be using software to interact with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), for example to send your Self Assessment tax return. 

You can use this service to: 

  • check which software you have given permission to 
  • remove permission from any software, for example permission to file your return 

Before you Start 

To sign in for the first time, you will need: 

  • a Government Gateway user ID and password - if you do not have a user ID you can create one when you use the service  
  • a permanent National Insurance number
