You can only claim Universal Credit online. Before you claim you will need to create an account for which you will need:
- An email account
- A mobile telephone number
- Bank, Building Society or Credit Union Account
We would also recommend you have your personal details to hand before you start:
- Photo ID
- Rent costs (tenancy agreement)
- Wages ( payslips)
- Child and partner details
You can then check your postcode is in a Universal Credit full service area and make an application on the Universal Credit Website.
If you do not have reliable internet access you will need to go to your local library, Job Centre, or we can help you at the Councils’ Offices in Ely.
