Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)

Introduction

The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) explains how East Cambridgeshire District Council involves communities, individuals, and other key stakeholders in plan-making and planning decisions. This is to ensure effective community involvement at all stages of the planning process.  The current SCI was adopted by the Council on 3 July 2023.

The SCI covers consultation arrangements in respect of planning applications, pre-applications, modifications, appeals and enforcement, as well as planning policy matters. Planning Policy can include the preparation of a new Local Plan or a Neighbourhood Plan. The SCI sets out the levels of assistance from the Council at various stages of the planning process.
