The government introduced a national scheme through which local councils provide a one-off, £150 energy rebate for homes in Council Tax bands A to D.  In East Cambridgeshire, Anglia Revenues Partnership and the Council worked together to help 100% of all eligible homes to receive their rebate.

In addition to the national scheme the Council could set up its own Discretionary scheme to provide assistance to households living in E to H band properties or to provide additional assistance to those suffering financial hardship in band A to D properties.
