Most, but not all, Council and Committee meetings are included in the Public Question Time scheme.
Public Questions/Statements are welcomed on any topic related to the Council's or Committee’s functions as long as there is no suspicion that they are improper (e.g. offensive, slanderous or might lead to disclosures of Exempt or Confidential information). Up to 15 minutes is allocated for this at the start of the meeting.
Please send your question or statement to Democratic Services at firstname.lastname@example.org at least 2 working days before the meeting.
The questions will be asked at the meeting in the order in which they are received. If you have submitted a question and are present at the meeting you will be asked to read the question out, if you wish. The Chairman may answer directly or refer it to an Officer to answer. If the question needs a more detailed answer a written reply will be provided later. Any questions remaining at the end of the Public Question Time will receive a written answer.
Further details about the Public Question Time scheme are available at:
N.B. Planning Committee, Licensing Committee and Licensing Sub-Committee Hearings are not included in this scheme, as they have their own Public Speaking schemes.
