Held every four years to elect the whole District Council.

Parish Councils
Held every four years alongside the District Council Elections to elect the Parish Councillors for the parishes in East Cambridgeshire.
Next elections: May 2023
Cambridgeshire Police & Crime Commissioners
Held every four years to help elect the Police & Crime Commissioner for the whole of Cambridgeshire.
The 2020 election was postponed due to the coronavirus issue.
Next election due May 2021.
Cambridgeshire County Council
Held every four years, between District Council elections, to elect the eight County Councillors covering East Cambridgeshire.
Next election due May 2021
Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority Mayor
Held every four years to help elect the Mayor for the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority.

United Kingdom Parliament
Held every five years to help elect two Members of Parliament who have their constituencies covering East Cambridgeshire.
Next elections due May 2024.
By Elections
Occasionally By Elections are held, usually for the District or County Councils, when a Councillor leaves his/her position for whatever reason. These are one-off elections and only apply to an individual ward/division where an election is held to replace the person vacating their position as a Councillor.
