Councillor Richard Hobbs, Chairman of the Commercial Services committee at East Cambridgeshire District Council said:

“We would like to reiterate that the underpass for the new Ely leisure village is still going ahead and construction of it is underway. Once open, this will enable pedestrians and cyclists access to the cinema, food outlets and leisure centre. This underpass is not linked to, or affected by, the decisions made by Cambridgeshire County Council’s environment and education committee to cease plans on an underpass for Ely Southern bypass.”
