Discover the ghostly tales of Ely

With the arrival of the autumn season comes the return of Ely’s ever-popular ghost walks.

Back by popular demand Ely’s ghost walks will lead you through the narrow streets on a range of guided walks. Ghost tours allow visitors to discover the ghostly tales of scandal, death and horror on Ely’s medieval streets with the chance to meet some of the ghosts that reside within our medieval city.  The eerie Ely Ghost Walks are led by the Night Watchman as he takes you on a tour of Ely by twilight, exploring the hidden horrors, terrifying tales and things that go bump in the dark.

Visitors are also invited to explore Oliver Cromwell’s House after dark where a guide will lead you through this atmospheric house and hear the haunted tales that have been collected over many years from former inhabitants, visitors and staff.

Tracey Harding, tourism and town centres manager at East Cambridgeshire District Council said: "Building on the success of previous years, we have extended this year’s ghost season. We hope that with the variety of tours available there will be something for everyone and leave visitors with some great memorable experiences”.

Tickets for both tours must be pre-booked and are now on sale for a variety of dates in October and November. For bookings, please call 01353 662062 or visit the Oliver Cromwell's House website: www.olivercromwellshouse.co.uk and Facebook page: www.facebook.com/cromwellshouse
