Council invites residents to Click & Connect

A local district council is welcoming residents to use their new online facilities to pay, report and apply for services at a time that suits them.

Following a two-week consultation which saw over 300 comments from the public, East Cambridgeshire District Council have reviewed and revamped their website to provide a quicker and improved service for residents searching for information about their services online.

The council are also encouraging residents to register to their online self service element of their website through their campaign ‘click & connect’.  Signing up allows you to complete tasks 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, which once needed to be achieved within regular working hours. This includes reporting issues such as fly tipping, making requests for a parking season ticket and paying your council tax.

Councillor Jo Webber, Service Delivery Champion for Customer Services said: “This is a fundamental step in providing an improved and enhanced service to our residents. It is important that our services develop to match the needs of the people living in East Cambridgeshire and offering this facility provides a simple and effective way to connect with the council online.”

Residents who register for the service will be put into a monthly draw to win £25 worth of shopping vouchers. What’s more, those who sign up before the 18th December will also be entered into a Christmas prize draw to win an iPad, kindly donated by software company, Firmstep.
