The waste and recycling collections will return to normal from Monday 11 January.
Dave White, Waste Services Team Leader at East Cambridgeshire District Council, said: “Christmas is a great time for giving and receiving presents, catching up with friends and family and of course having a little too much to eat. The festive season also generates a lot of rubbish so we would urge you to recycle as much of this as possible in your blue and green lidded wheelie bins. For example you can wrap up the remains of your Christmas lunch in newspaper and pop it into your green recycling bin
“If you want to dispose of your recycling before your revised collection day, the Household Waste Recycling Centres in Witchford and Milton will be open except for Christmas Eve afternoon, Christmas, Boxing and New Years Day. They have extensive facilities to recycle much of the waste you generate over the holiday period, if you can’t wait for the normal collections.”
