Ways to pay your Council Tax

You can pay your Council Tax as:

  • a one-off payment
  • spread over 10 instalments
  • spread over 12 instalments, but you will need to let us know by completing the online form Contact Us if you want to do this

Cash payments

You can also use ‘Paypoint’, ‘Payzone’ or ‘Quickcards’ for cash payments at post offices, banks, newsagents and convenience stores.

Call 0300 4560692 and follow the instructions given. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

You must enter your Council Tax reference number, available on the front of your bill, to ensure your payment is allocated correctly.

By cheque

Please make all cheques payable to ‘East Cambridgeshire District Council’ and make sure you quote the Council Tax reference number on the reverse of the cheque.

Payment difficulties

If you cannot pay your Council Tax or if you are having difficulties paying your bill, please let us know. We can help and advise you about what options there are.  

You can also spread the cost of your Council Tax over 12 months or you may be eligible for a Council Tax Reduction.

Non-payment of Council Tax

If you do not pay your Council Tax, action can be taken against you.
