Calculating Council Tax
To calculate your Council Tax, you need to know three things:
- The valuation band of your home which you can find on the government website
- How much we are charging for properties in that band which you can find on Anglia Revenue’s Partnerships website. Simply click the East Cambridgeshire District Council logo
- Whether you are eligible for a discount or exemption
Who pays Council Tax
It is usually one person over 18 years old (the liable person) that pays Council Tax. Couples living together are jointly responsible; you can have both names added to the bill to reflect this. A full list of who has to pay Council Tax is available on the government’s website.
