East Cambs Trading Company (ECTC) is a private company limited by shares that is wholly owned by East Cambridgeshire District Council (ECDC). ECTC operates at ‘arm’s length’ from ECDC with an independent board for operational decision making. As such ECTC’s finances are withheld from publication under FOI Section 43 – Commercial Interests.

Our parks are maintained by the trading company.
In respect of those requests that where answered in full or partially and the total refused please take this as notice under FOIA, that we:
a) Consider the information as exempt from disclosure under the Act;
b) Claim exempt under sections of the Act:
Section 43 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000
c) State why the exemption applies
Commercial Interests
(1) Information is exempt information if it constitutes a trade secret
(2) Information is exempt information if its disclosure under this Act would, or would be likely to, prejudice the commercial interests of any person (including the public authority holding it)
(3) The duty to confirm or deny does not arise if, or to the extent that, compliance with section 1(1)(a) would, or would be likely to, prejudice the interests mentioned in subsection (2)
