Clarification requested: 07 May 2025: 'If, under Section 27 of the Housing Act, a property was identified as an unlicenced HMO, then the Council would be enforcing against the landlord, and we would not encourage a landlord to serve a notice to quit on tenants. We therefore do not have any ‘text of the procedure’. Can you please clarify exactly what you are looking for? Are you a landlord looking for advice on owning a HMO and managing your tenants?'
