Our planning team

Our planning team

Welcome and thank you for showing interest in working for the Strategic Planning and Development Management team. There are exciting times ahead and we would love new dynamic members to join us on the journey going forwards.

Your role and impact

Your work will directly influence the shape of the district's future growth, making sure that it is in line with national and regional policy, while meeting the needs of our residents and businesses. You, with respect to all of these roles, will also have the opportunity to take on different responsibilities that will help shape the district and ensure that it is a thriving place for our residents to live in.

Recent successes have been a redeveloped working environment for our planning team, creating collaborative working spaces, an uncluttered environment with officers retaining their own desks.

The team is performing at a high level with our performance in the upper quartile in respect to the government targets, with caseloads remaining at sensible levels. These roles are to complement the existing team and to assist on our journey to deliver excellence.

Current and upcoming projects

We are delivering on large scale developments with the recent committee resolutions to grant permission at Soham for the Eastern Gateway development, and the ongoing North Ely and Littleport urban expansions where the next phases are currently in the pipeline. This coupled with exciting projects such as Bens Yard rural shopping village, Wicken Fen, The Yard in Ely shows the wide range of work you could potentially be involved in.
