Whether you're moving into your first home or relocating within the district, moving can be exciting - but also stressful. Use our guide below to help you prepare, move, and settle in with confidence.
Before you move

- Take Meter Readings - Record your gas, electricity, and water meter readings (or take a photo).
- Test safety equipment - Check and test your smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, fuse box location and water stopcock (so you can shut off the water in an emergency).
- Secure your home - If allowed under your tenancy or mortgage, consider changing the locks. Have spare keys cut and give a copy to someone you trust.
