Request a Safer Food Better Business pack or diary sheets
It is a legal requirement that all food businesses have a documented food safety management system. It should be kept up-to-date and be available for officers to inspect during inspections. Failure to have a documented food safety management plan will result in a lower food hygiene rating.
Safer Food, Better Business (SFBB) is a free resource published and updated by the Food Standards Agency. By working through the document, and completing the relevant sections, a food business should have a robust food hygiene management system.
It is not a legal requirement to have a completed SFBB pack if the business has a system in place that achieves the same ends.
The Safer Food, Better Business packs are free from the Food Standards Agency website.
Printed copies are available from the council for a charge. This consists of a Catering Pack plus one month's supply of diary sheets and a four-weekly review sheet. You can also request one month's diary sheets including one four-weekly review page.
The pack is available in English; for Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, and Sri Lankan catering; for Chinese catering in English and in Chinese characters. Please tell us which pack you require.
