Licences for events

To check whether or not a licence is required for your event, please contact our Licensing Officer on licensing@eastcambs.gov.uk or call 01353 665555.

Premises licence    

This will be required if you are planning to:  

  • sell or supply alcohol  
  • hold regulated entertainment  
  • provide late-night refreshments (selling hot food and drink between 11pm and 5am

Personal licence

You will need a personal licence if you are planning:  

  • to authorise the sale or supply of alcohol in accordance with a premises licence, or  
  • you want to become a designated premises supervisor on a premises licence, or  
  • you need to increase the number of Temporary Event Notices you can apply for

Temporary Event Notice (TEN)   

These can be used to cover small scale events that will cater for a maximum of 499 people including performers.

This may be required if you are planning to sell or offer for sale any goods/articles on a street within the council's defined area.
