Event Management Plan

If you are organising an event it is your responsibility to ensure you have considered all the safety aspects, and ensure you have relevant documentation, such as risk assessments, in place.

Our event management plan template can guide you through the main things you need to consider for the safe running of your event.

Please note it is not an exhaustive list of everything you will need to consider – that will be very much dependent on the event you are organising.

This template is to be completed in conjunction with relevant legislation and guidance, such as The Purple Guide and advice on running events safely issued by the Health and Safety Executive.

Other suggestions can be found on the Cambridgeshire Safety Advisory Group publications list:

Completing your Event Management Plan

How to complete your Event Management Plan:

  1. Red text that is relevant to the event needs to be changed to black
  2. Red text that is not relevant should not be deleted, but changed to black and have "strikethrough" applied to indicate that it has been considered
  3. Content of the black text is there to help and can be amended
  4. Add new sections as required for your event
  5. Amend the contents page in accordance with your final plan
  6. Add page numbers to the contents page
  7. This is a working document that you will need to add to as your event evolves. Always remember to up-to-date the version number and date to ensure you are always working with the most up to date version
  8. Once your document is complete, delete any remaining green text

A copy of your completed document should be provided to the landowner.
