Housing Options Officer

The council is committed to preventing homelessness and supporting those who are homeless or at risk of losing their home. As our team continues to grow, we are looking for a Housing Options Officer to join us.

In this rewarding role, you will work closely with statutory and voluntary agencies to identify practical and innovative solutions that support people to access and maintain suitable, sustainable housing.

You will provide support, advice and guidance to individuals facing housing difficulties, including mediating with landlords and families, liaising with private and public sector landlords and their representatives, and helping to establish appropriate services for people with additional or specialist needs. You will also ensure customers understand the full range of housing options available to them and are supported to make informed choices.

A key part of the role will be ensuring the council fulfils its statutory responsibilities in relation to homelessness and access to housing, while delivering a supportive and customer-focused service.

The ideal candidate will hold a CIH Level 4 qualification or be willing to work towards achieving this qualification.

This role is office based and any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
