The Minor Injuries Unit at the Princess of Wales Hospital is open for patients with injuries that need attention but are not critical or life threatening.
The unit is open from 8:30am to 6pm, 7 days a week.
X-ray facilities are open from 9am to 4:45pm Monday to Friday and 1pm to 4:45pm Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Conditions that can be treated include:
- wounds – cuts and bruises (tetanus immunisation can also be given)
- bites – human, insect and animal
- minor burns and scalds
- muscle and joint injuries – strains, sprains, limb fractures
- sports injuries
- minor illness such as earache, sore throat
- eye problems
- simple urine infections
- minor head injuries (with no loss of consciousness)
Staff are not able to provide care for dental problems, treatment for long-standing conditions or treatment for patients under 2 years of age.
