Public Spaces Protection Order Renewal - Dog Fouling

Public Spaces Protection Order Dog Fouling 2018 - Renewal Consultation 2021

East Cambridgeshire District Council has a current Dog Fouling Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) which makes it an offence to not clear up after a dog defecates on public land. This includes common land and roadside verges.

Failure to comply with a PSPO is an offence which can be dealt with by a fixed penalty notice of £80 or by prosecution.  East Cambridgeshire District Council has issued five fines to owners for not clearing up after their dogs (as of August 2021).
The current PSPO is due to expire in September 2021, and the Council is now considering whether to renew the PSPO for a further three years until September 2024.

The Council is interested in your views about whether the PSPO should be extended. If you have any observations, comments or questions about the proposal, please let us know by responding to this short survey.
Paper copies can be found at the Council office, The Grange, Nutholt Lane, Ely, CB7 5EE.

This consultation closes at 12 midnight on Sunday 26th September 2021.
